Pitchwars 2015 Mentee Bio

Who Am I?

In the beginning there was nothing but darkness...   Darkness and a sort of metallic sounding taste that permeated all.

And it was boring.

So boring in fact that I had to slap the taste out of the universe's mouth just so we could get things underway.

Well not really, but as a retired, Indy Pro Wrestler I kind of have a bit of a flare for the dramatic (yes, that is me in black, and no I wont hunt you down and piledrive you.)

I've been a writer since the 9th grade, outside of the normal writing exercise stuff that they make you do in school. Anne McCaffrey saved me (more than once mind you), and set me on the path of the storyteller with a single book.

I'm a born entertainer, and it all stems from that book, and yes I realize that was not the book I should have started with, but the results are the results so we wont go there. When I finished high school I set writing aside, sure that I would write something someday, and just waited for the right story to pick me.

In the mean time I picked up a guitar and worked on my music:

Almost got a black belt in Judo (long story there):

Did some Professional-Wrestling:

Met my beautiful wife (her prom... not mine):

Had three beautiful children:

Oh yeah...  and I also wrote a book.

About the Book.

Remember when I told you that I put writing aside because I didn't think I had anything to write about? (not exactly true, I spun many a poem to woo the ladies) This book was that idea I was waiting for.

I remember going to sleep, just like any other night, as I didn't have kids just yet, and having this tumultuous, relentless dream.  I woke up with tears in my eyes, and just sat there and thought, FINALLY.

I dreamt I was at a party. And that both of my female friends were there.  It all came out that we loved each other, and one of their ex's did too. So of course we had a game show styled show down to figure out who knew Kate best, and I lost.

But that was only the beginning, the basis of what ended up being "What Happened At Kate's House".

Much like Stephanie Meyer, I just had to write this story.  the characters wouldn't shut up in my head, and they still haven't even thought their story is done for now.

If my story moves just one person I would be happy with it.
